Everyone is born to be creative!
Tall Grass Arts Association has been making art a part of life in the south suburbs since 1955. It is the only nonprofit art center of its type in Chicago's South Suburban region. Its purpose is to promote public education and appreciation of the arts, to encourage artists and to support high-quality art through exhibit sales, classes and events.
Facilities include a large exhibition and sales Gallery at 367 Artists Walk, and an Art School at 70 Lester Road. The Gallery features an ever-changing display of invitational exhibits, lectures by exhibiting artists, and a sales gallery and gift shop featuring one of a kind juried art works by artists from across the country. The School offers classes and workshops for children and adults in a wide variety of media on a year round basis. Tall Grass Arts Association also sponsors the annual Art Fair in DownTown Park Forest the third weekend of September, which attracts artists from the Midwest and beyond to this fine-arts juried fair. And art and foreign films are co-sponsored every month with the Park Forest Theatre, followed by lively discussions at the Gallery. Special events include the annual Beaux Arts Ball.
