Celebrating its 30th Anniversary, the Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park at Governors State University offers visitors the opportunity to walk its prairie pathways and encounter 26 works of contemporary sculpture, many by 20th Century masters. Visitors are welcome 365 days a year from dawn until dusk. Regularly scheduled tours are offered free of charge and conducted by knowledgeable docents. School, private, or group tours can be scheduled by prior arrangement.
The park sponsors activities and events throughout the year, all of which are open to the public and many of which are free of charge. Its lively newsletter, LandMarks, is published three times a year and provides news about the collection as well as information on special events, educational activities, informal “Road Trips,” and extended tours.
Arranged across over 100 acres of rolling landscape, the Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park is a one-hour Metra train ride from Millennium Station and only 35 miles from the heart of Chicago’s Loop. Visitors are encouraged to visit any time of year and experience “ . . . the nature of sculpture.”
